About this Community

Mississauga living at its finest! Voted the top choice of retirement homes in 2022, this charming community combines health and wellness with an exciting lifestyle. Choose from a variety of suite types, versatile care, and activities to suit your interests.

The Village of Erin Meadows offers options for Retirement Apartments, Assisted Living, Memory Care and Long Term Care, allowing you to age in place within the community you love, while supporting your ever-changing needs all the while.

The Village of Erin Meadows is part of the Schlegel Villages family, a Canadian owned and operated organization managing long-term care and retirement Villages across Ontario. It was 1953 when Wilfred Schlegel bought the family’s first nursing home and today our Villages benefit from a legacy of many years of direct experience co-owning, managing and operating long-term care and retirement communities.

The Village of Erin Meadows is located at Winston Churchill Blvd. and Erin Centre Blvd., just around the corner from Credit Valley Hospital and Erin Mills Town Centre. With both long-term care and retirement living options at the Village, over 400 seniors call Erin Meadows home.

Our long-term care and retirement buildings are connected on the ground floor via an indoor Main Street which includes all of the shared amenity spaces in our Village available for all residents to use. Main Street features a dining room, fitness centre, movie theatre, chapel, hair salon, library, café, dining room, social club and pub, hobby shop and art studio, pet centre, classroom and outdoor courtyard with pond, putting greet and gazebo.

Our Mission – It Takes A Village To Care

When you enter a Schlegel Village, you’ll immediately notice the unique architectural design of the Main Street and Town Square. In addition to this special design, you’ll instinctively feel a warm sense of community: a place where residents, team members, families and volunteers genuinely care for and about one another. This feeling of community is fostered through design features that promote both planned and informal social interactions between residents and tie the various “neighbourhoods” together, which is why each of our campuses is called a “Village”. This sense of community sets us apart from other retirement settings that emphasize resort living; it’s nice to visit a hotel but we believe it’s much better to live in a Village. This unique feeling is also achieved by our very active recreation team at each Schlegel location. Our team members and volunteers ensure that there’s a wide array of programs for all interests, which range from one-on-one interactions to small group activities to community-wide events.

Our Concept – A Full Continuum Of Care Within A Neighbourhood Design

At Schlegel Villages, the key to our success is providing a unique continuum of care by offering a full range of living and support options all on one campus. With our Main Street and Town Square, each Village has an internal “neighbourhood” design that promotes a caring and cohesive community, with an emphasis on treating you  as an individual while supporting your health needs and promoting your independence and ongoing social engagement.

If your need for assistance changes, you can choose to move to another neighbourhood within the Village or take advantage of additional living choices in your apartment or suite. With minimal stress or disruption, transition from fully independent or retirement living to our assisted care or memory care neighbourhoods can be easily accomplished. This also allows spouses with differing care needs to remain together while receiving the support each individually requires.
